Van Nuys, CA – — Motion Control – New high resolution and high repeatability Alignment Stages have been released by Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc. (OES). Supplied with a standard 4 mm-per-turn ground lead screw, the AU200-200×200 Alignment Stages feature 200 mm (7.874 in.) of travel in both the X and Y axes. These low profile 80 mm (3.179 in.) high XY stages have a 250 mm x 250 mm (9.842 in. x 9.842 in.) open aperture.

Integration of tooling and fixtures is facilitated through a precision series of threaded holes. As an option, a solid top is also available.

The stepper motor driven Motion Control AU200-200×200-01 XY Alignment Stage (pictured) features a resolution of 1 micron when using a 20 micro-steps-per-step micro-stepper motor driver and better than 2 micron repeatability. The knobs on the AU200-200×200-01 Stepper Motor series (pictured) can be replaced with an optical encoder for position verification. For even greater resolution, repeatability, positional accuracy, higher travel speeds, and greater throughput, the AU200-200×200-02 and AU200-200×200-03 stages are supplied with three phase brushless servo motors and DC brush motors with quadrature encoders for closed loop servo operation.

The typical applications include: Alignment, inspection, testing, scanning, laser drilling, machining, semiconductor handling, sampling, assembly, and optical applications in industrial, medical and research applications. AU200-200×200 alignment stages can be ordered as a complete plug-and-play system with compatible Motion Controllers and drivers from OES.
