Motion Control – Maxon and ANYbotics form New Partnership!

Motion Control Drive specialist maxon, renowned for its Mars motors, is joining forces with the robotics startup ANYbotics and will in future supply the drive systems of the autonomous ANYmal inspection robot. Motion Control – Linear Voice Coil Motor Tolerates Tilting

Van Nuys, CA — Motion Control – Moticont has added a new 1.25 in (31.8 mm) stroke linear DC motor to its series of LVCM Linear Voice Coil Motors. The new LVCM-051-051-06 Linear Voice Coil Motor has been designed with a larger radial air gap to tolerate the tilting and misalignment that can be experienced when clamping out of parallel objects or moving off-center loads. This compact linear motor is 2.000 in (50.8 mm) in dia. with a 2.00 in. (50.8 mm) long housing and at mid stroke is just 2.88 in. (73.0 mm).  Peak force is 9.5 lb (42.2N) at a 10% duty cycle and continuous force is 3.0 lb (13.3 N).

Motion Control – 1.0 Inch Diameter Voice Coil Motors!

Van Nuys, CA – Motion Control Components – Moticont has added to it’s line of Linear Voice Coil Motors, LVCM, two 1.000 in. (25.4 mm) diameter motors. The LVCM-025-022-01 has a stroke length of 0.375 in. (9.5 mm) a mid-stroke length of 1.30 in. (33 mm) and it has a high force to size ratio of 16.9 oz (4.7 N) and a peak force of 53.5 oz. (14.9 N) at 10% duty cycle. The LVCM-025-029-01 has a stroke length of 0.625 in. (15.9 mm) a mid-stroke length of 1.68 in. (43 mm) with a continuous force of 18.2 oz (5.1 N) and a peak force of 57.7 oz. (16.0 N) at 10% duty cycle.

Motion Control – Servo Motor Three-axis Gimbal Mount!

Van Nuys, CA – The New AU300-AER-02 Three-axis Gimbal Mount from OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) with Three-Phase Brushless Servo Motors and Quadrature Incremental Encoders features very high resolution and high speed. Each axis features: Low backlash worm gear drives and precision “V” groove and cross roller bearings for high accuracy and repeatability. The typical accuracy is 0.05° equal to 180 arcsec and typical repeatability is +/- 0.01° equal to +/- 36 arcsec. The maximum travel speed of each axis is 45° per second.

This new three-axis gimbal mount handles loads up to 10 kg (22 lbs) and has a clearance of 300 mm x 300 mm (11.8 in. x 11.8 in.) around the roll axis stage and each stage is capable of the full 360° rotation of its axis. Driver assist systems, such as adaptive cruise control (ACC), brake assist systems, or lane departure warning systems (LDW), can save lives. Lane departure warning systems warn the driver if the vehicle is drifting out of its lane.

The LDW determines the vehicle’s position in the lane with the use of various optical sensor systems and computers. If the car is in danger of drifting out of the lane, the system activates an electric motor in the steering wheel that causes the wheel to vibrate, warning the driver.
