The S-18-100LC2 and S-18-100LF2 Latching Bi-Directional Solenoids feature the same compact dimensions: 1.00 in. wide x 0.84 in. high x 1.73 in. long with 6-32 threaded Push/Pull plungers. 

The plungers have a travel of 0.19 in. and in the extended position are 0.50 in. long, two 8-32 (or optional M4) threaded mounting holes are located on the underside of the solenoids.

Featuring an open aperture of 0.50 in. (12.7 mm) this low cost, clean room friendly non-commutated motor is available off-the-shelf. Van Nuys, CA —– Motion Control – Build-to-Order High Precision XZR Positioning Stages (X-axis, Z-axis, and Rotary- axis) are the newest addition to the OES (Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc.) family of motion control stages.  When specifying an XZR stage a user can select from a combination of linear stages with travel lengths of 15 mm, 30 mm, 50 mm, and 75 mm for the X and Z axes that feature high precision 1 mm per turn lead screws.  For the rotary axis a 60 mm diameter rotary table or 100 mm diameter rotary table are available.

Motion Control – Electric Cylinder Has Zero Cogging

Van Nuys, CA — Motion Control – Moticont has added another non-commutated linear actuator to its DDLM series of low cost actuators.

The 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) diameter shaft has an internal thread on each end, a total of length of 4.960 in (126.0 mm), and extends 1.585 in. (40.3 mm) past the mounting end of the actuator. The shaft extends thru the 3/8-32 UNF x 0.250 (6.4 mm) long threaded studs at each end of the housing which can be used for mounting the DDL-019-070-01 linear actuator. Long life plain linear bearings support the internal shaft at both end of the actuator.

Motion Control – Voice -Coil Stage

Van Nuys, CA – Motion Control – Components -– Moticont has released the miniature GVCM-016-019-01M Linear Voice Coil Servo Motor.  Smaller in diameter than a US Dime this 15.9 mm (0.625 in.) diameter Servo motor, also called an Electric Cylinder, features a high force-to-size ratio of 1.5 N (5.3 oz) continuous force and 4.6 N (16.6 oz) of peak force.  The compact housing is just 19.1 mm (0.63 in.) long and in the fully extended position the shaft extends 20.0 mm (0.79 in.) beyond the face of the housing.  The end of the shaft has an M2.2X0.45 thread by 4.0 mm long for backlash free connections.

Motion Control – Vertical Lift Stage

(OES) is a very stable, high precision, high load vertical lift stage that can be easily integrated into almost any application. The LVCM-019-048-02 Linear Voice Coil Motor is a true servo motor featuring zero cogging, high accuracy, and high repeatability when operated in a closed position loop.  Voice Coil Motors (also referred to as actuators) are clean, quiet, efficient, brushless high speed linear servo motors.

  This small LVCM-019-048-02 diameter actuator has a 1.500 in (38.1 mm) stroke length and a high-force-to-size ratio of 7.4 oz (2.1 N) and a peak force of 23.5 oz. (6.5 N) at 10% duty cycle.

Motion Control – FDA/Dairy Washdown System

E. Longmeadow, MA – — Motion Control – Application  – Dairy machinery manufacturers are under intense scrutiny by FDA inspectors when it comes to FDA material and caustic washdown compliance. Recently, LM76 was called by a large US dairy packaging company to review a problematic portion of their filling line. After each shift, the filling line is washed-down, has a caustic foaming agent applied to kill bacteria and then is final rinsed. The caustic foaming agent was destroying – literally eating – the aluminum shaft supports while shafting exhibited pitting and showed signs of minor corrosion. Additionally, there were areas where product got trapped and these locations were havens for bacterial growth. Because this system was in-place and our customer was the end-user, LM76 engineers had to use direct drop-in replacement com¬ponents. What to do?

Motion Control – Yaw and Pitch Stages

This new series of high precision Yaw-and-Pitch stages are ideal for precise measurements of compound curves and angles of an object during inspection or reverse engineering, laser machining and drilling, scanning, tracking, mirror positioning, and for use with coordinate measuring machines and autocollimators.

Motion Control – Robotic Cycloidal Gearbox!

Vaughan, Ontario, Canada — Motion Control Components — GAM announces the release of the new GCL cycloidal gearboxes. The new gearboxes provide high precision and rigidity for horizontal and vertical robotic and motion control applications.

The GCL is designed to withstand the frequent start-stop impact loads of industrial robots and other motion control applications with impact resistance five times nominal torque. The GCL series is available in a wide range of sizes with ratios from 36:1 to 192:1.

Motion Control – Electric Cylinder

Van Nuys, CA – Motion Control Components – Moticont has added another linear motor to its SDLM Series of high speed direct drive linear motors which are also know as Electric Cylinders. The SDLM-051-095-01-05 is a powerful, compact linear actuator measuring just 2.00 in. (50.8 mm) in diameter and 3.75 in. (95.3 mm) long. It has a 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) stroke and features a resolution of 5 microns (0.000197 in.).

The integral, linear optical quadrature encoder is directly connect to the shaft for the greatest possible bandwidth and accuracy and is protected by the housing. This fully enclosed linear motor features a continuous force rating of 7.6 lbs (33.9 N) and a peak force of 24.1 lbs. (107.2 N) at 10% duty cycle.

Motion Control – Alignment Stage!

Van Nuys, CA – — Motion Control -Optimal Engineering Systems, Inc. (OES) has introduced the XYR-300-400 Alignment Stage offering +/- 3 micron accuracy for industrial, medical, semiconductor, production, research, and laboratory applications.  The XYR-300-400 Alignment Stage features +/- 15 mm of travel in the X and Y axes and +/- 5 degrees of rotation (theta). It moves in XY-plane and rotates around the center of the XY-plane.

The XYR-300-400 Alignment Stage feature linear resolutions of the X and Y axis of 1 micron resolution with a 10 micro-steps per step motor driver and static parallelism of less than 0.05 mm.

Motion Control –  Right Angle Gearheads

Vaughan, Ontario, Canada — Motion Control — ADVANCED Motion Controls has released a new 60A continuous FlexPro servo drive model FM060-60C-CM. This model is the second “machine embedded” version in this power range adding CANopen communication to the previously released EtherCAT version.

The 60A continuous current rating means the servo drive can operate at the 60A peak rating continuously with no need for current foldback.  This feat is impressive because the new model is in the same package size as our “micro-sized” FlexPro models meaning up to four units can fit within the footprint of a business card.
